Un año más en el hotel Beverly Hilton y un año más -tercero consecutivo- con Tina Fey y Amy Phoehler como presentadoras, la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood (HFPA) entregará los galardones en los que premia lo mejor del cine y la televisión.
En cine Birdman, la película del mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu sobre una estrella de Hollywood en horas bajas, parte como gran favorita en la categoría de comedia o musical con siete nominaciones.
La película protagonizada por Michael Keaton opta -entre otros- a los premios la de mejor película en la categoría de comedia o musical, mejor director y mejor actor de comedia o musical para un inmenso Michael Keaton. El Gran Hotel Budapest de Wes Anderson, con cuatro candidaturas, parece ser la gran rival de Birdman en la categoría de comedia.
Del lado del drama, la cosa parece estar entre The Imitation Game (Descifrando Enigma), protagonizada por Benedict Cumberbatch, y Boyhood, la película que Richard Linklater rodó durante 12 años para atrapar el paso de niño a hombre de su protagonista. Las dos películas cuentan con cinco candidaturas, aunque tampoco hay que olvidarse de La teoría del todo, el biopic del astrofísico Stephen Hawking, que cuenta con cinco nominaciones.
En la ceremonia, en la que George Clooney recogerá el Premio Cecil B. DeMille, también habrá un duelo de altura en las categorías de televisión: Fargo vs. True Detective. La ficción basada en la película de los hermanos Coen es la gran favorita con cinco nominaciones, una menos que la aclamada serie de HBO protagonizada por Matthew McConaughey y Woody Harrelson.
